Philosophy

We are in the midst of a massive shift in how we create and use energy - both in our buildings and our cars. The day is near when centralized power plants are as obsolete as mainframe computers and landline telephones. The technology is here to enable you to charge your electric car battery under a solar-powered carport by day and use it to power your house in the evening.

Our mission is to make this transition simple and cost-effective for our customers.

Our customers always come first -- everything we do will be with our customer foremost in mind. We will deliver our customers the technology they want (like solar panels and EV charging stations); the capability of generating their own power; and the ability to start saving money on their energy bills on day one.

We will eliminate our customers' hassles:

No-money down financing. No personal financial guarantees required.

No installation fees or ongoing maintenance costs.

Simple solutions for sharing project benefits between landlords and tenants.

For us, success will be defined by how quickly we accelerate the transition to a more open, democratized, decentralized and distributed network – a ‘de-metered’ ecosystem – of dynamic energy producers and consumers.

SunShot Award

The U.S. Department of Energy’s SunShot Initiative seeks to lower the cost of solar power to compete with grid power.

Demeter Power was selected for a $500,000 SunShot Incubator award to demonstrate a new way for commercial property owners to finance valuable solar improvements on their properties.

Our approach has been called "game-changing" due to the ability to bring scale to commercial solar for the first time.

Demeter helps customers fund solar that generates immediate savings and transfers a portion of their energy bill to their property tax bill.

With the SunShot Award, we are developing an online portal for property owners and solar developers to use to quickly and easily evaluate solar project viability. Our PACE3P® web platform puts property owners and solar contractors only a few clicks away from confirming a bankable project and generating a term sheet to finance the deal.

Developers can register with Demeter for eligibility to offer Demeter’s financing to property owners – or property owners may apply directly to Demeter for financing.

About The SunShot Initiative

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) SunShot Initiative is a collaborative national effort that aggressively drives innovation to make solar energy fully cost-competitive with traditional energy sources before the end of the decade. Through SunShot, DOE supports efforts by private companies, universities and national laboratories. Learn more at energy.gov.
